Job Description

Merit Health River Oaks is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician to join our established Emergency Medicine Program. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a collaborative, patient-focused environment with strong clinical support and access to advanced resources.

Program Highlights

Approximately 25,000 annual Emergency Department visits
110-bed hospital
19 Emergency Department beds
Level III Trauma Center
24-hour physician coverage
12-hour NP/PA coverage
EMR system: Cerner

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality emergency medical care to patients presenting with a broad range of acute conditions
Perform patient evaluations, assessments, and treatment planning
Stabilize and manage emergent and urgent medical conditions
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and specialists
Ensure accurate and timely EMR documentation
Adhere to hospital policies, clinical protocols, and quality standards
Support patient safety and patient satisfaction initiatives

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
Current Mississippi medical license or eligibility for licensure
Strong clinical, communication, and decision-making skills
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented emergency care environment

Merit Health River Oaks is a 155-bed facility located in Flowood, Mississippi. MH River Oaks is a full-service acute care facility dedicated to improving care through collaboration. Our care services include education, preventive and diagnostic care, as well as treatment and recovery, provided by a medical staff of physicians and specialists.
